A thriving tech ecosystem full of innovation is no stranger to the bustling lifestyles of New York City. Afterall, for the last two years, New York has ranked second place in global reports of the best tech ecosystems — and its local companies are surely standing out.
On Tuesday, Inc. released its list of the 5,000 fastest-growing companies. The list consists of U.S-based, privately held companies and ranks companies based on their percentage revenue growth between 2018 and 2021.
Nearly 280 NYC-based companies made the list this year and, according to Inc., these businesses generated $11.8 billion in total revenue and added over 30,000 jobs.

Marketing and communications firm MATTIO Communications has grown its revenue by 5,734 percent over the last three years, according to Inc. With a focus on representing cannabis and lifestyle brands, MATTIO hopes to break down any negative stigmas associated with cannabis and has successfully placed its clients in big-name publications like CNN, Vice and Bloomberg. The firm is also hiring for a few roles to grow its current 60-person team.

Allergy-free cookie company Partake Foods has its products in huge retail stores such as Target and Trader Joes. Last year, the e-commerce brand expanded its product line to include brownie mix, and this year it has introduced its allergy-free pancake and waffle mix. Partake has scaled its revenue by 7,849 percent since 2018, according to Inc.

Thesis, a NYC-based neurotech company, produces natural vitamin supplements to help improve users’ brains cognitive abilities when it comes to things like memory, energy and motivation. Since 2018, the company has increased its revenue by 9,442 percent, according to Inc. Thesis is currently hiring for a few open roles.

Healthtech and pharmaceutical company Capital Rx helps users monitor medical billing and reimbursements in addition to helping them cut costs on prescription drugs. Built In last caught up with the company earlier this year after it raised $106 million in a Series C round. The plan then was to expand the platform’s technological capabilities and hire. Over the last three years, Capital Rx has increased its revenue by 9,895 percent, according to Inc., and the company is still hiring for nearly 20 open roles.

Over the last three years, Inc. reports that The Newsette has grown its revenue by 16,581 percent, making it the top NYC-based performer on this year’s list.
