IBM to end facial recognition program. The company fears the technology will be used in mass surveillance and racial profiling. In 2019, IBM already discontinued ITS public-facing facial recognition model that was available for companies. [Built In NYC]

NYC reopening with the help of tech. Up to 400,000 workers could begin returning to jobs in the first phase of reopening, and technology is playing a role in helping them safely do so. StrongArm Technologies offers a device that helps companies monitor whether their employees are socially distancing. New infections are now down to about 500 per day. [NY Times]
