From flexible work schedules to unlimited PTO to company-sponsored gym memberships, a company’s perks and benefits offerings can make a big difference when it comes to not only attracting great talent but retaining it. After all, finding a job you love isn’t just about the role you assume; it’s about the culture, the team, the opportunities to grow, and the ways in which a job can support both your personal and professional life — as well as finding a healthy balance between the two. Perks and benefits, of course, play a big role in this, and according to local tech pros, some play a bigger role than others.

Out of all of the amazing perks offered at Peakon, I value work flexibility the most. It has given me the freedom to create a better work-life balance that works for me.

Of all of the perks your company offers, which matter most to you, and why?

Reonomy has a lot of great perks, but my favorites are the health benefits. Reonomy has 100-percent covered medical, dental and vision insurance, as well as healthy snacks, free Citibike memberships and discounted gym access.

Of all of the perks your company offers, which matter most to you, and why?

We have free health benefits and unlimited PTO, but the benefit that matters most to me is our weekly family meals. We cater in or dine out at least once a week as a team — we unplug, sit down together and bond as a team.

Spending quality time with colleagues allows me to learn about new music and restaurants and catch up on current events. We also play games (two truths and a lie, conditional probability brain teasers and ping pong) which helps build a deeper connection with one another and also challenges our critical thinking abilities.

Of all of the perks your company offers, which matter most to you, and why?

I really appreciate the flexibility to work from home because it provides me with some autonomy over my schedule. It’s also nice to know that pymetrics trusts us and understands that employees have other responsibilities and needs outside of work.

How have you taken advantage of this perk? What impact has it had on your life inside or outside the office?

I’ve definitely taken advantage of this perk! It’s allowed me to spend time with family and book cheaper flights because I can fly on less popular days for travel. Even being able to work from my apartment sometimes so that I can do laundry while I work seems like such a little thing but is actually a big relief. I’ve also worked from home when I’ve needed to be around to let maintenance workers in and the like. It’s so nice not to have to take time off for those sorts of things.
