Between power shoulders and memo pads, there’s a lot about the legal world that is stuck in the past. A new wave of startups is poised to bring the law into the future, and Litify is ready to lead the charge.

On Thursday, the Brooklyn-based company announced it had closed its Series A funding round for a whopping $50 million. Led by Tiger Global Management, the round will be used to expand the company’s current product, as well as develop new solutions for a variety of more specific legal needs.

“Litify will use this round of financing to accelerate our rapid growth, as we realize our goal of being the premier operating software platform for law firms,” said co-founder and CEO Reuven Moskowitz “We’ll also be expanding our customer base as we expand to a corporate law offering for mid-to-large size firms, and an off-the-shelf solution for smaller-sized law firms.”

Since Moskowitz founded Litify in 2016, the company has worked to build a one-stop tool that lets law firms manage cases, client relationships and documents in a secure, digital space.

Lawyers want to run their firms with greater efficiency and more transparency into their operations.”

The Litify toolkit is actually built on top of Salesforce, bringing the powerful features salespeople have relied on for years into the complex legal field.

“Lawyers want to run their firms with greater efficiency and more transparency into their operations,” said Moskowitz. “We know that they want to integrate and automate their businesses to allow them to serve their clients better.  Litify’s software improves law firm efficiency by providing an intuitive and extensible platform.”

The platform is designed not only to help law firms run more efficiently, but to help lawyers think of their firm more like other businesses. From there, Litify helps lawyers grow their businesses through more streamlined marketing, intakes, communications and more.

Law blogs and journals from the past few years have been discussing the merits of increased technology use in the legal field. Rather than adapt existing tools for the industry, Litify hopes to meet that need with tools designed specifically with lawyers in mind.

“So many other industries have adapted technology to take them to the next level,” said Moskowitz. “We’re confident that leveraging the power of technology gives law firms the tools they need to become high-performing businesses.
