The Role:

At Leap, the Merchandising Manager is a strategic, cross functional and data driven role. The role involves both owning all inventory work streams with key accounts and working to enhance internal workflows for the Merchandising team as a whole. The ability to translate both qualitative and quantitative platform data into actionable strategies is a key competency for this role. The Merchandising Manager will report into the Direct of Merchandising Strategy and work collaboratively with our Retail Operations, Visual Merchandising, Store Design, and Marketing teams.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop brand / store specific merchandising strategies and recommendations that leverage brand and Leap Platform data & insights to an continuously maximize store sales 
  • Collaborate with brand partners to curate the optimal assortment down to the store level 
  • Analyze selling, trends, insights, Platform data and stock positions on a bi-weekly basis and provide replenishment requests as needed
  • Drive cross functional in-store strategies with internal partners on the Visual Merchandising and Marketing teams 
  • Create and roll out new Merchandising programs (IE: Inventory management systems, Insights Tracking, BI Tools) in partnership with Retail Operations 
  • Enhance Merchandising SOPs and workstreams to allow for scaling our rapidly growing business
  • Manage 1 direct report on the Merchandising team 

Preferred experience, skills & attributes:

  • 4-6 years of relevant professional corporate retail/merchandising experience required 
  • Experience with Shopify preferred
  • Highly proficient in data analysis inclusive of Excel data manipulation 
  • Proven ability to drive strategic recommendations from data
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic/ high growth startup environment
  • Skilled in working and leading projects cross functionally

Outcomes & measures of success:

  •  Successful management of inventory breadth and depth across key accounts to maximize sales and minimize OOS
  • Continuous recommendations of new strategies as it relates to merchandising and assortment planning
  • Cross functional communication with internal and external stakeholders to enhance inventory and merchandising work flows, systems and tools
  • Successful roll out of inventory programs used platform wide
