The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Sales Relationship Manager to join our fast-growing data sales team within MarketAxess. The successful candidate will be continuously building relationships and will strive to increase revenue and customer retention.

The Sales Relationship Manager, Data is responsible for generating new sales within a specified territory and achieving set sales targets. The role will also involve the protection of existing revenues within the individual’s regional allocation through efficient customer relationship management.

How You'll Help Take Us There

  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of the market and MarketAxess offerings, anticipate customer needs, and use discretion to advise customers
  • Maintain customer relationships and be the subject matter expert in all MarketAxess product segments to achieve trading volume targets and increase market penetration
  • Sell and upsell MarketAxess trading capabilities and develop long-term strategy by setting the tactical direction for current and potential customers within individual accounts, focusing on data solutions
  • Actively build a new business pipeline, call on customers and develop relationships at multiple levels across the customer organization
  • Qualify customer interest, conduct demos, close opportunities, and maintain the fluency of the user base
  • Leverage customer and industry intel to effectively communicate product requirements to Product Specialists/Developers for system enhancements, functionality, and usability
  • Analyze large sets of data to identify market trends, tradable patterns, and leading indicators to advise current and prospective customers
  • Propose timelines, forecasts, and expectations to proactively influence the business line’s goals and budget
  • Mentor and assist in the development of all junior employees, promoting firm values across the team
  • Own relevant initiatives and be responsible for driving initiatives and increasing knowledge and engagement across the team
  • Develop executive level presentations and metrics to communicate team strategy, accomplishments and goals
  • Represent the business in responding to trading strategies, test procedures and other projects
  • Entertain customers during and after business hours as needed

What We’re Looking for

  • 6+ years of experience in a sales capacity with prior broker/dealer, buy-side firm, or other electronic trading venue experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field
  • Advanced knowledge of the MarketAxess platform and product suite
  • Advanced understanding of business line and data sales; a growing understanding of the overall firm and its competitive environment
  • Advanced knowledge of the fixed income markets with a solid understanding of data products within capital markets, including all front to back-office groups
  • Portfolio of existing contacts who may be potential users of data in varied user groups preferred, e.g. sales, trading, compliance, risk, research, pricing
  • Passion for electronic trading and the resilience to effectively promote its continued evolution through MarketAxess products
  • Interpersonal, communication and influencing skills (eg. negotiation, consultative skills)
  • Ability to advise senior-level managers at both buy-side and sell-side investment firms
  • Ability to deliver results amidst continuous change in an agile work environment
  • Ability to proactively tackle business problems with creative solutions
  • Track record of exceeding goals and quotas
  • Excellent collaborative skills and ability to successfully partner across functions and lines of business while also displaying the capabilities to act autonomously on most decisions
  • Ability to travel for training and customer engagement
  • Series 7 and 63 licenses preferred

For job positions in NYC, NY, and other locations where required, the estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $110,000 USD to $175,000 USD. Actual salary may vary depending on job-related factors, which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. You may also be eligible for annual cash incentives, equity, and other benefit programs.
