These Tech Companies Opened NYC Offices in 2022
New York is home to gorgeous skyscrapers, larger-than-life monuments, a large financial district and a booming tech scene. It’s no surprise that a lot of businesses begin their growth in NYC and that many out-of-state businesses eye office placements here as well.
As we near the end of 2022, here’s a running list of companies that decided to open local offices in the Big Apple this year. These companies are innovating voice automation, supporting global currency transactions and more.

Dual headquartered in San Francisco and London, Index Ventures is a global VC firm that has backed over 20 NYC tech startups. In November, Index Ventures opened its New York City office located in the Meatpacking District. The firm’s NYC office is expected to grow to 10 employees in 2022 and eventually up to 30 workers.
Fraîche develops smart refrigerators for corporate offices that track which products customers consume the most. The company opened a new office in Brooklyn’s Williamsburg neighborhood in October that can house up to 20 employees. Fraîche anticipates closing a Series A round in 2023 and wants to increase its headcount to 30 people.
Darktrace leased a 27,000-square-foot office in Manhattan this past September. Darktrace is an artificial intelligence cybersecurity company headquartered in the United Kingdom. Its previous NYC office had a footprint of 9,000 square feet.
Founded in 2020, Sightfull is a data and go-to-market strategy company. In September, it established an office in New York City after raising an $18 million Series A round. The new office will support the company as it increases its headcount to 50 employees within the next year.
In June, Ever/Body raised $55.5 million for its tech-backed skin-care products and in-person treatment. The new capital will fund six new offices and treatment centers along the East Coast, including three offices in NYC. Prior to the new treatment centers, Ever/Body had three locations in the city.
Checkout.com, a local tech unicorn valued at $40 billion, opened a New York City office in April in the city’s Meatpacking District. According to a company statement, the office was intentionally built with amenities to cater to employees such as a floor-to-ceiling view of the Hudson River and a wellness room. Checkout.com helps users make global transactions in over 150 currencies. In addition to building its new office, Checkout.com is hiring for several roles, most of which can be found on their Built In company profile.
