Senior Accounts Payable Specialist

As a Senior AP Specialist, you'll be an integral part of Figma’s accounting org. As a member of the team, you will be responsible for overseeing and handling the day-to-day AP operations of multiple business entities, implementing processes and systems and contributing to our month end close cycles. The ideal candidate will be thorough, a self-starter who can work independently, and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.
What you’ll do at Figma:
- Leading our Global AP and Expense teams who support the full-cycle AP process
- Oversee the Corporate Card program including the Expense T&E program
- Run full-cycle AP operations including vendor relations, purchase orders, 2 and 3 way invoice matching, invoice processing, payments, vendor master data, and reconciliations
- Review and approve invoices, ensuring proper coding of invoices, departmental approval, and accurate entry into ERP system for company-authorized purchases
- Lead the implementation and company-wide rollout of Procure to Pay and other spend management systems
- Assist GL team with general accruals, account reconciliations and analyses
- Maintain and implement the company expense policy while overseeing the review and processing of employee expenses and reimbursements
- Lead the AP and Expense teams and build/scale the functions as the company grows while ensuring compliance with company policies and internal controls
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities for AP and support the annual financial audits and tax filings
- Maintain the 1099 data for vendors and Supervise preparation of annual 1099 and other AP compliance reporting requirements
- Help identify, drive, and implement process improvements while documenting new and existing processes
- Be a strategic business advisor and prepare ad-hoc reports and special analyses to facilitate management's ability to understand business issues and drivers
- A collaborative teammate with the ability to partner with internal and external contacts at all level
- 5+ years of Accounts Payable experience (2+ years at a high-growth technology company preferred)
- Deep expertise in the full P2P cycle, particularly AP and expense management processes.
- Experience working in fast paced, dynamic environments
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the company and externally, coupled with a client-service attitude
- Experience with ERP systems and automated AP payment solutions such as NetSuite, Bill.com preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel (Vlookups, Pivot Tables, SUMIF, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail, high-level of personal excellence and accountability, and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with diverse groups globally
