About Us

Hungryroot is your partner in healthy living. We get to know your lifestyle, budget, health objectives, and preferences, and we recommend and deliver nutritious groceries, easy recipes and essential supplements for you and your family. It’s the easiest way to eat healthy, achieve your goals, save time at the store and in the kitchen, and live a healthy (and delicious) life. Founded on the belief that food is the foundation of health, convenience should not mean compromise, and we’re all unique in how we eat and live, Hungryroot is building a future in which healthy living is easy and enjoyable.

We are a distributed team built on top talent from over 28 states across the U.S. This position is required to be on-site at our office location in New York City most days. Expect to attend regular team building events, an annual company retreat and expect to be treated like an owner who cares about our common goal, not someone who has to clock in and out of work.

About the role

We are looking for a Culinary Producer / Food Stylist  to be a part of our growing Creative team. You will be responsible for the coordination and presentation of food-related content for in-house and freelance productions.

This role will join Hungryroot’s Creative team and you will report directly to our Sr. Producer. In this critical role you will ensure that shoots run seamlessly with professionally styled food to produce beautiful, high-quality footage and imagery on time and on brief. We are looking for an organized and collaborative culinary expert with proven creative food styling chops who can work quickly and adapt easily to emerging priorities. If you want to help us change how people grocery shop and eat for the better, we encourage you to apply!

Responsibilities

  • Source, organize, prepare, and style all food for shoots and ensure that everything is set-ready prior to shoot day
  • Assign and organize recipes and SKUs for in-house and freelance productions
  • Align with culinary, sourcing, and creative/marketing teams in pre-production on established goals ahead of shoot day
  • Provide on-brand food styling direction and reference imagery/footage in pre-production
  • Execute within proper food safety and brand standards throughout shoots
  • Communicate constantly with team on set to ensure shoots stay on time and on track
  • Maintain shoot spaces and tools to ensure availability and organization for shoot days
  • Contribute meaningfully to creative brainstorms, guides, and process development
  • Stay up-to-date on current food trends, styling techniques, and industry best practices to ensure that our content remains fresh and ahead of the industry standard
  • Assist Sr. Producer with ad-hoc production tasks as needed

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience in Food Styling
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in culinary arts, food science, or a related field (preferred)
  • Proven work experience as a food stylist; either in-house, in editorial, at an agency, or freelance
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills: must be excited about feedback, and adaptable to emerging priorities
  • A portfolio of existing food styling work

Perks & Benefits

  • Hybrid role
  • Equity
  • Unlimited vacation policy
  • Universal paid parental leave
  • Monthly Hungryroot credit for delicious, healthy groceries
  • Comprehensive health, vision, dental, and life insurance
  • Wellbeing benefits including One Medical, Spring Health, LiveHealth, Rightway care concierge, and more
  • 401k
  • A work from home stipend to support your initial home-office setup

Expected Pay Range: $65,000 - $75,000
