Healthy habits are a major value for wellness company WW, and their office reflects that. Located in the “fitness district” of NYC,  where Chelsea meets Flatiron, the company’s office practices what they preach. CTO Michael Lysaght explained more.

How many employees work at the office?

Over 400 employees.

How big is the space?

100,000 square feet.

When did you move in?

2013.

What's your favorite part of the space?

The roof deck, of course. It’s not just a great spot for happy hour, but also for meetings and informal chats.

Is there anything unique about your office you'd like to share?

The office was designed to promote collaboration and to support healthy habits. We have an open staircase between floors, a layout that promotes taking breaks and staying active between meetings, healthy snacks and beverages and a gym. We’re also located on the border of Chelsea and Flatiron, which has been dubbed the “fitness district” of NYC.

Updater, a company that handles all of the administrative tasks associated with moving, has an office that’s covered in personal details. Located in Union Square, the office is easily accessible and close to great shopping and restaurants. People Experience Manager Ashley Lunsford walked us through her favorite aspects of the space.

How many employees work at the office?

70 employees.

How big is the space?

20,000 square feet spread across two floors.

When did you move in?

Our 12th floor opened in January 2017 and our sixth floor opened in July 2018. I was a part of the design process for our second floor, which was a really exciting experience.

What's your favorite part of the space?

My favorite part of our space is how much light each floor gets. We have huge windows that surround our desks and the view looking down onto Union Square Park is incredible!

We commissioned an extremely talented illustrator, Greg Kletsel, to create a huge mural in our 12th floor family room that features “Updater-esque” elements. Everything from office culture to client experience to our office dogs (also known as ‘pupdaters’) is captured in this mural.

AlphaSights connects businesses with top experts in their fields, and there are little details around their office that reflect that. Martin Rodriguez, facilities and office experience manager, went over each one.

How many employees work at the office?

Over 250 employees.

How big is the space?

At our New York office, we occupy about 46,000 square feet across two-and-a-half floors. We’re also in the construction phase for an additional 17,000 square feet this summer.

When did you move in?

August 2017.

What's your favorite part of the space?

Our largest kitchen on the 12th floor. It has a spacious open layout with windows all around and connects to our multipurpose space where we hold team meetings, office celebrations, client events, speaker panels and other events. It’s also where you’ll find some intense and lively ping pong games happening during the day. But the coolest part of our office would probably be our live “Knowledge Map” that’s displayed on a big screen at our reception area. You can see the real-time connections we’re facilitating between our clients and advisors across the globe.

With our rapidly growing number of employees, this is actually the fifth NYC office that AlphaSights has leased in just eight years! It’s our first NYC office, however, to be designed similarly to our London HQ. The architects and interior designers focused on incorporating curving, fluid lines into the space to symbolize the connections we make day in and day out.
