5 NYC tech events you don't want to miss this week

Coworking + Design and/or Code Review, November 8th at 6 p.m.

Girl Develop It is offering a design and code session followed by a review session with a designer or engineer from Thoughtworks. The review sessions are 40 minutes and should help you think clearly about your work.

Hire Your Company’s Next Top Talent, November 9th at 4 p.m.

This is an opportunity to get your hands on some top-notch talent graduating from General Assembly’s full-time immersive courses. You’ll be able to see the graduates' portfolios, websites and client products. There will also be a chance to connect with students one-on-one.

ARcade 7: VR, AR and Politics, November 9th at 6 p.m.

In honor of Election Day, this event will focus on how virtual reality is being used to create documentary experiences of the presidential debates. The event will also feature some product demos.

Reboot Workshop, November 11th at 10 p.m.

Reboot Workshop features short-format talks on community-proposed topics. They have put together a small group of leaders in art, technology and leadership, and you’ll get a chance to pick their brains on a topic of your choice. Lunch will be provided.

Columbia University Entrepreneurship Hackathon, November 12th at 3:30 p.m.

Colombia Impact is the university’s largest event of the year and is an entrepreneurship hackathon that brings students from different departments together to collaborate. Teams will work on projects to address issues in transportation, healthcare and technology. This is a unique opportunity for local startups to connect with Columbia’s up-and-coming talent.
